A comprehensive volume published to accompany the 1976–1977 retrospective of French painter Gustave Caillebotte (1848–1894). Best known for his association with the Impressionists yet maintaining a more realist and sometimes Neo-Impressionist style, Caillebotte’s work is explored here in depth through essays, annotations, and a richly illustrated catalogue.
The catalogue presents 77 paintings and about two dozen drawings, accompanied by 14 color and 228 black-and-white plates.
